Savour the unequivocal French refinement of Albert Bichot Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2017. Produced in the grandeur of Burgundy, this harmonious blend by renowned estate Albert Bichot is denser than most Chablis, granting it rich, irresistible allure. The 2017 vintage was meticulously hand-harvested, maintaining the wine's absolute integrity. Grapes were vinified in traditional oak barrels for 10 to 12 months to accentuate the naturally complex minerality. Albert Bichot, steadfast in viticulture since 1350, ensures utter magnificence by adhering to sustainable agricultural methods, centring authenticity in every bottle. This award-winning producer has once again crafted an enchanting offering capturing a multitude of fresh and citric flavours, dominated by green apple and lemon, undercut by subtle flinty notes and a trace of salinity. Albert Bichot Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2017 distinctly transcends the ordinary Chablis, promising an unforgettable tasting experience and showing profound ageing potential. |

Vinous (87)The 2021 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru has a primal, grapefruit and lemon thyme scented nose that feels a bit strict. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry, though it needs more grip and substance on the finish. Fine, but early-drinking. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis. |

Decanter (93)Domaine Long-Depaquit is the Chablis arm of the Bichot family. Vaucoupin is one of their signatures and in 2022 it shows a great combination of sun-ripened peach fruit on the palate, balanced by zesty acidity and a hint of white pepper. Lovely purity here. Manages to be both powerful and elegant at the same time. Already drinking nicely, this has the concentration to age very well. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is very airy, weightless and lifted. The 35% new oak is not especially evident. The 2018 shows real finesse and aromatic intrigue. Citrus, white flowers, chalk, white orchard fruit, white pepper and mint come together in a very pretty and gracious wine with a long, persistent finish. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94)Fullish yellow. The complex nose shows the power of the vintage, a few drier tannins behind, fair acidity. I think the Clos character is there, but it is reticent today. The palate does deliver detail and layers of fruit though. The finish does also suggest the necessary class. Really good length here. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (92)The 2021 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru has a bit of reduction on the nose, although it conveys energy and seems well defined. The palate is fresh on the entry with a keen line of acidity. There is a veneer of oak but it is proportional to the fruit, rendering the finish balanced and focused with a dab of stem ginger on the aftertaste. This has certainly improved since I tasted it blind a couple of years ago. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. |
