William Fevre own 46ha of AP Chablis but there was lots of frost damage in 2021 - the yield was just 18hl/ha! Lovely floral notes here, very precise and focussed. This is already appealing although the acidity is certainly evident. Lingering spice notes on the finish. From a tank sample, with bottling due in November. (from a .55 ha parcel). Slightly honied aromas of exotic white and yellow peach are laced with moderate amounts of classic Chablis character. Interestingly, the medium-bodied flavors are not quite as dense as those of the Les Lys though they are still notably powerful while offering just a bit more depth on the sneaky long, sappy and serious finale. Planted by William's father, these vines are now 55 years old. All the parcels here are on steep slopes. The scintillating nose starts with salted lemons and perky grapefruit peels. The 2017 Chablis Bougros Côte Bouguerots Grand Cru is mind-bending. Usually a more powerful Chablis, in 2017 the Côte Bouguerots is airy, weighty and beautifully lifted, with pretty floral and saline notes that confer a great deal of freshness. The 2017 opens up beautifully with time in the glass, showing tons of volume and resonance, all retaining its bright, sculpted personality.د.إ2,085.00 -

A cool and highly restrained nose reluctantly offers up its array of citrus, tidal pool, quinine and oyster shell. The exceptionally rich, even opulent, medium-weight plus flavors also brim with sappy dry extract on the mineral-driven, powerful and remarkably long finish. William's father planted these vines in 1947, 1948, 1950 and 1952. All are in the upper part of Les Clos. Their positioning simultaneously offers freshness and power. Yellow cherries, yellow tomatoes and summer herbs deliver a bold palate. It's a tsunami of flavor, and the structure is equally dominating. Cool and strikingly elegant aromas include those of quinine, white peach, spice and an abundance of classic Chablis notes. The 2021 Chablis Les Preuses Grand Cru comes from 2.5-hectares split over two parcels. This has one of my favourite aromatics from Fèvre this year with superb delineation and mineralité. The palate is harmonious and poised, very focused and tensile, plenty of energy with a touch of lime and clementine towards the persistent finish. This is an outstanding Chablis that should age supremely well in bottle.د.إ3,520.00 -

Beautiful mix of richness, grace and drive. As always with Fèvre's Les Preuses, this is elegant, long-living and fine. Ultra-stylish and very mineral. From two sections of vines. The 2014 Rosé is two-thirds fermented and aged in oak barrels. Deep salmon in color, it has a rich, forward nose of peaches and cream, strawberry, beeswax and touches of white chocolate – all very enticing. The palate is rounded on the entry, with good acidity, though in the end this rosé just falls a little flat and lacks tension and energy. Not bad, but to be honest, I was expecting more.د.إ1,625.00 -

Deep crimson. Lovely pure blackcurrant elderberry herb garden aromas with hints of espresso/ roasted chestnut notes. Beautiful concentrated wine with blackcurrant elderberry chinotto herb flavours, fine-grained and plentiful yet vigorous tannins, superb mid palate richness and integrated roasted chestnut/ cedar oak notes. The NV Vin de France Arcane Le Fou is another unique wine from this incredible winemaker. This cuvée focuses on different clones of Grenache as well as just about every permitted variety out there (although it’s 85% Grenache). It has a big, sweet nose of blueberries, black cherries, lavender, and peppery incense as well as a full-bodied, layered, powerful yet seamless style on the palate. With no hard edges, silky tannins, and a big finish, it’s a singular wine (it’s mostly from vines in Châteauneuf Du Pape) to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years.د.إ393.00 -
