On the back of the Wine Advocate’s 2017 Bordeaux article published overnight, we would like to highlight the exceptional value that is Château La Gaffelière 2017.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate) and Antonio Galloni (Vinous) have both recently re-scored Bordeaux 2017 and La Gaffelière has performed very well indeed scoring a huge 97-point upgrade from both critics.

La Gaffelière is easily the lowest priced wine with such an illustrious score from 2017 and looks like incredible value when compared to its peers, equalling Pavie, Margaux & Ausone for a fraction of the price.

A fortnight ago, we hosted Thomas Soubes from the Chateau in our London office and tasted La Gaffelière 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2010. 2017 was the clear favourite with its sheer elegance & style. There is no doubt that this Château is on the rise.

Purchased in 2014 by Count Alexandre de Malet Roquefort, he has put in significant new investment, replanting several plots, focusing on parcel selection and separate vinification. 2017 is the first vintage where the investment is clearly paying off. Priced at a fraction of similar high scoring wines from 2017, La Gaffelière is an exceptional wine at a price which seems too good to resist.
