Wine Advocate (93-95)The 2015 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru has an expressive bouquet with redcurrant, raspberry coulis, a touch of honey and a hint of Seville orange marmalade. It opens nicely in the glass, though does not slip into fifth gear at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, cohesive in the mouth and quite saline and spicy. There is generosity here, a trait of Charmes-Chambertin, with the mineral core surfacing right at the finish as it fans out. This is an impressive follow-up to the superb 2014 and it should give 20+ years of pleasure. |

The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Taut and fresh with perhaps the most saline finish of all Romain Taupenot’s cuvées this year, it is destined to be a wonderful Mazoyères-Chambertin for sure. Best in show chez Taupenot-Merme. |

Great length, but this is quite strict and therefore cellaring is recommended |

There is plenty of tightly knitted fruit here, and a patina of oak that is still to be assimilated, but also wonderful detail and subtlety on the sublime, sophisticated finish. There is plenty of extraction here and a carapace of quality new oak, but it seems to work well. It should become a noble Nuits Saint-Georges with a few years in bottle. The palate conveys that sense of transparency, filigreed tannins framing pretty red fruit, and shows decent grip on the finish. I can see this maturing with style. |

A light reduction on the nose, but not enough to hide the fruit. An ethereal style of pinot with light cherry and alpine strawberry notes. Very enticing. Extremely harmonious all the way through. Quite lovely, with the whole bunches adding an extra note at the finish. |
