Powerful, dense and tightly wound, the 2006 Dom Pérignon is fabulous today. To be sure, the 2006 is a broad, virile Champagne, but I find it compelling because of its phenolic depth and overall intensity. Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy adds that August was quite cold and wet, and that ripening only happened at the very end of the growing season. Although numbers alone can never explain a wine, I find it interesting that the 2006 has more phenolics than the 2003. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2006 is easily the most reticent Dom Pérignon in the years spanning 2002 and 2009. I am confident the 2006 will have its day, but in its youth, it is not especially charming or easy to drink.د.إ4,140.00 -

The 2002 Dom Pérignon is unforgettable. Rich, sumptuous and flamboyant to the core, the 2002 captures all of the radiance of a year in which ripeness in the Chardonnays was pushed to the edge. The 2002 is oily and viscous on the palate, with tremendous textural resonance in all of its dimensions. Tropical fruit, pastry and exotic floral notes all build as the 2002 opens up with air. I can still remember the first time I tasted the 2002, here in the Hautvillers cloister, with former Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy. The 2008 Dom Pérignon is fabulous, but quite remarkably, it was even more open when I tasted it a year ago. Bright, focused and crystalline in its precision, the 2008 is going to need a number of years before it is at its best. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint and white pepper give the 2008 its chiseled, bright profile. Several recent bottles have all been magnificent. What I admire most about the 2008 is the way it shows all the focus, translucence and energy that is such a signature of the year, and yet it is also remarkably deep and vertical. The 2002 Dom Perignon is at first intensely floral, with perfumed jasmine that dominates the bouquet. With time in the glass the wine gains richness as the flavors turn decidedly riper and almost tropical. Apricots, passion fruit and peaches emerge from this flashy, opulent Dom Perignon. One of the top expressions from 2012 was the imperious Dom Pérignon awarded a huge 98 points by Yohan Castaing alongside 97 points, courtesy of Antonio Galloni (Vinous) and 96+ points from William Kelley (Wine Advocate).
An outing which “incarnates the very essence of Dom Pérignon with such a concentrated degree of intensity”, this blend of 51% Pinot Noir and 49% Chardonnay is a great pick right now for both superb drinking in a number of years' time and more immediate appreciation given the current explosive market for Champagne.

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)
The NV Extra Brut L.P.M. is a pure Pinot Meunier from the Massif de St. Thierry. Base wines were fermented and then aged in oak for 11 months before tirage. The wine then spent 18 months on lees before disgorgement and still smells immensely youthful, like tart, fresh red-green apple with an overtone of moss. The palate, with its fine but youthful mousse, is beautifully aromatic, showing that same mouthwatering tart apple note on green plum. Gentle smokiness appears on the finish. Give this a little bottle age and drink from the second half of 2026. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: August 2025.د.إ1,215.00 -

Based on the 2021 vintage, complemented with 50% reserve wines from 2018 and 2020, the third edition of Domaine Vincey’s NV Blanc de Blancs Interlude, disgorged in May 2024 without dosage, is the only non-vintage Champagne from the grower. Derived from three old-vine plots planted with massal selection Chardonnays, which Vincey also bottles separately as standalone cuvées, it is composed of Le Grand Jardin in Oger and Chemin de Châlons and Auge in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
