The 2022 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru comes from two parcels on the north-facing part of the climat, 60- and 70-year-old vines. It has a poised and focused bouquet with hints of white peach and praline infusing the minerally scents. Very composed and understated at first before gaining more intensity. The palate is well-balanced with tangy marmalade and quince, lovely depth and cohesion, equidistant between classicism and the generous, almost tropical nature of the 2022 vintage. Mid lemon. The bouquet indicates a surprising breadth of flavour, as if this were a riper spot, and the attack continues in the same fashion, before the wine tightens up at the back in a crystalline fashion, as the stones take over. The 2021 Saint-Aubin En Remilly 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet with mineral-laden citrus fruit, quite understated at first yet there is superb delineation and focus. The palate is very well balanced with a crisp line of acidity. There is a patina of new oak to be subsumed, so wait another 12 to 18 months because this is a top-notch Saint-Aubin. The 2020 Saint-Aubin Le Charmois 1er Cru has a killer nose of crushed stone aromas, plus hints of shucked oyster shell and light loamy scents. The palate is wonderfully balanced, poised and focused, with veins of blood orange and nectarine and a beautifully defined finish. The 2017 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru stays with Domaine Marc Colin as it as owned by Damien's godfather and he wished for it to remain with him, therefore a fermage agreement remains in place. It has a clean and precise bouquet, a little more expressive than some of its peers with crushed stone, sea spray and light citrus peel scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, the oak neatly integrated (one out of two barrels new) with a precise tangy orange rind finish. Sophisticated and compelling. The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Virondot 1er Cru, which unlike the other Premier Crus was taken from barrel, has a lovely bouquet with hazelnut, orange rind, wet granite and just a touch of praline. The palate is very well balanced with an irresistible peachy entry that segues into a gorgeous quince-tinged finish. Often one of the Domaine best offerings, this Virondot is another to add in a succession of great wines from this climat.د.إ1,910.00 -

The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet En Virondot 1er Cru, which was severely affected by frost, has a pretty blackcurrant leaf and candy floss-tinged bouquet, well-defined and seductive even at this early stage. The palate is well balanced with sour lemon and lime on the entry, fine depth, quite spicy and lively with orange rind and quince; touches of peach appear toward the satisfying finish. The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Virondot 1er Cru is habitually one of the Domaine's strongest cards, though this year, it is challenged by the brilliant Caillerets. Still, you cannot deny the nose has excellent mineralité and complexity, with touches of chai and chamomile complementing the yellow fruit. The palate is very well-balanced, with great power and precision. Wonderful acidity is interwoven into this Chassagne with great precision and persistence on the finish: elegance and class.د.إ2,325.00 -

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Virondot 1er Cru is a worthy follow-up to the impressive 2022. Very complex and harmonious on the nose, it just could not be from anywhere but Chassagne, combining very subtle yellow fruit notes with stirring mineralité. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It's quite energetic at the moment, which will hopefully be captured in the bottle. There's a very sustained spicy aftertaste that completes a great Chassagne.د.إ2,300.00 -

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru sees around 20-25% new oak. The nose offers lemon verbena, pear and a touch of nectarine, unfolding in the glass with neatly integrated oak. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite linear and strict with a touch of stem ginger and towards the waxy finish. Pretty and appealing, though I think the ‘19 will have more longevityد.إ2,245.00 -

The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru, which was more or less ready to be bottled, has an attractive bouquet with lemon curd, crushed stone and light praline scents rendering very seductive aromatics. The 30% new oak is very well integrated. The palate is well-balanced with fine weight and tension. Quite edgy, veins of ginger come through on the finish, and there is a conspicuously persistent aftertaste. Very classy.د.إ2,060.00 -

The palate is taut and fresh with kernels of orange rind and sour lemon. The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Vergers 1er Cru was reductive on the nose when I tasted the barrel sample, but that will be addressed by bottling time. There appears to be very good intensity here, and with time, there is an unexpected touch of Shiso leaf. The 2022 Meursault Les Grands Charrons, matured in 20% new oak, has quite an engaging bouquet, with hints of wild fennel and mint infusing citrus fruit. Impressive delineation. The palate is well-balanced with a silver bead of acidity. Linear in style, there is no peacock's tail towards the finish, but plenty of spiciness, a touch of Szechuan pepper leaving the mouth tingling on the aftertaste. Recommended.د.إ1,395.00 -

Tension pursues all the way through and the ripeness is perfect. This is not the most fruit forward of Chaumées I have tasted here, but has all the qualities for ageing well. Don't miss! An overtly floral-suffused nose speaks of the ripe essence of white peach, passion fruit, anise, exotic Asian-style tea and in particularly jasmine, tangerine rind and a hint of wood influence. There is exceptionally good density to the palate staining big-bodied flavors that exhibit impressive power on the muscular and overtly mineral-driven finale which offers massive length on the ever-so-slightly warm finale. This very serious effort is a classic Chevalier of class and grace and it's also a wine that I could still taste 24 hours later. A wine of intense concentration, tension and focus, even in the warm conditions of 2022. Aroma notes of ripe apple, peach and quince, then the volume and density you'd expect from 2022, but it's well balanced by the fresh acidity that draws it to a lingering finish. Grapes from Niellon’s plot of old vines are fermented on native yeasts in 40% new cask. This wine is among the best from this vintage and will make old bones if you are so inclined.د.إ11,675.00 -
